THE KOSHER WINE SOCIETY and CITY WINERY Present “The Fruit of the Vine” A unique opportunity to learn and create your own bottle of Kosher Wine!
Join us for 5 Mondays beginning April 27 to May 25 7:00 PM at City Winery 155 Varick St. New York City
This "Fruit of the Vine Series" includes:
Week 1: Presents the vineyard cycle including grape maturity and harvest and then introduces participants to the art of wine tasting: teaching them to see, smell, and taste.
Week 2: Focuses on the white winemaking process from harvest to bottling. A white wine tasting follows. Participants will be guided in experiencing the relevance of mouth feel and the notion of balance in white wines.
Week 3: Teaches the techniques of red winemaking, including the importance of maceration. During the red wine tasting session that follows, participants will explore the relevance of mouth feel and the notion of balance in red wines.
Week 4: Introduces "special winemaking." Participants will learn about the techniques used to make sparkling, fortified wine, ice wine & port. Wines from each category will be tasted.
Week 5: Participants will be treated to a completion dinner and wine-pairing event along with a presentation on history, Bible references, and contemporary production of kosher wines.
Baron Herzog wines will be served at all winemaking classes sponsored by Royal Wine Corporation.
